Accessibility Statement

swipeout is committed to making our mobile app and website at getswipeout.app usable by as many people as possible, including people who rely on assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, switch controls, and voice control. Accessibility is part of how we design and build, not an afterthought.

Standard we aim for

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make digital content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities. For our native mobile app, we apply the same WCAG 2.2 AA success criteria wherever they are relevant, alongside the platform accessibility guidance from Apple (iOS) and Google (Android).

What we do

To work toward and maintain that standard, we:

label interactive controls (buttons, links, inputs, toggles) so they are announced correctly by screen readers such as VoiceOver (iOS) and TalkBack (Android);
expose the state of controls — selected, checked, disabled, expanded — to assistive technologies;
design tap targets to be large enough to activate comfortably;
support both light and dark appearance and aim for sufficient colour contrast in each, and we do not rely on colour alone to convey meaning;
respect the text size and display settings you choose on your device;
provide text alternatives for meaningful images and icons, and hide purely decorative ones from assistive technologies;
build with semantic structure (headings, roles, and reading order) so content can be navigated logically.

Conformance status

swipeout is in active, pre-release development, and our features evolve quickly. We consider the app and website to be partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 AA: most of the experience meets the standard, but some areas may not yet fully conform while we continue to build, test, and refine. We review accessibility as part of our ongoing work and prioritise fixing issues that block people from completing core tasks.

Known limitations

Despite our efforts, some limitations may remain:

Maps and venue imagery — place, map, and photo content is supplied by third parties (including Google Maps Platform) and may not always include complete text descriptions.
Rapidly changing screens — newer or experimental features may not yet be fully optimised for every assistive technology.
Third-party sign-in — the Apple and Google sign-in flows are controlled by those providers and follow their own accessibility implementations.

We are actively working to reduce these limitations over time.

Compatibility

swipeout is designed to work with the accessibility features built into recent versions of iOS and Android, including VoiceOver, TalkBack, Dynamic Type / font scaling, larger text, increased contrast, and reduce-motion settings. On the website, we aim to support current versions of major browsers used with common screen readers.

We welcome your feedback. If you encounter an accessibility barrier in the swipeout app or on this website — or if you need information in a different format — please tell us so we can help and improve.

Email admin@getswipeout.app with the subject "Accessibility feedback". Where you can, include the page or screen, the device and assistive technology you were using, and a short description of the problem. We aim to respond within 5 business days.

We may update this statement as the Services evolve and as we improve accessibility. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
