Delete your account

This page explains how to request deletion of your swipeout account and the data associated with it, what gets deleted, and what (if anything) we keep. It applies to the swipeout mobile app, operated by swipeout.

Delete your account from inside the app

The fastest way to delete your account is directly in the app. It takes effect immediately — there's no waiting period.

1. Open the swipeout app and make sure you're signed in.
2. Go to Profile → Account.
3. Scroll to the Danger zone and tap Delete account.
4. Confirm when prompted. Your account and associated data are permanently erased right away. This can't be undone.

Can't access the app? Request deletion by email

If you can no longer sign in or open the app, email us from the address on your account and we'll process the deletion for you:

• Email admin@getswipeout.app with the subject "Account deletion request".
• Send it from the email address linked to your swipeout account so we can verify the request.
• We'll action verified requests and confirm by reply. We aim to complete these within 30 days.

What gets deleted

Deleting your account permanently erases your account and all data tied to it, including:

• Your sign-in identity and profile (email, display name, bio, photo, date of birth).
• Your onboarding answers and interests.
• Your saved places and collections.
• The groups, plans, and availability you created or joined, and your messages.
• Your in-app activity and preferences.

Deletion cascades across our database, so removing your account removes the records owned by it.

What we may keep, and for how long

• Backups — residual copies may persist in encrypted, time-limited backups for a short period before being overwritten in the ordinary course.
• Legal & security records — limited information we're required to retain to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, or prevent abuse.
• Aggregated / de-identified data — data that no longer identifies you may be retained for analytics.
• Waitlist email — if you joined the waitlist separately, email admin@getswipeout.app to have that removed too.
